The film's director Nitesh Tiwari has told that his team worked for six and a half years to show the fight between Ravana and Jatayu on screen. During this time, many changes had to be made from the design of the scene to its final form. Not only this, it also took almost two years to finalize the design of Ravana's Pushpak Vimana. Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Lord Ram and Yash Ravana in the film.
It took six and a half years to prepare the fight between Ravana and Jatayu.
Nitesh Tiwari recently told many things related to the preparations of the film in a conversation with Shreyas Media. He said that there are some scenes of 'Ramayana' which took much more time to make than expected.
Most hard work had to be done on the fight between Ravana and Jatayu. According to Nitish, from the time he first explained this scene to the artists of his team, it took six and a half years to completely prepare it.
However, this does not mean that the shooting of the scene continued continuously for six and a half years. This time also includes the initial planning, design, animation, visual effects, and changes made to the scenes.
Nitish told that many parts of the film have been prepared from scratch. Thousands of people worked for this at different levels. He said that he can talk for a long time about the hard work behind just one action scene.
40 to 50 designs made for Pushpak Viman
A lot of effort has also been made to show Ravana's Pushpak Viman in the film. Nitesh Tiwari told that it took almost two years for the team to decide on its final design.
During this period, about 40 to 50 different designs of Pushpak Viman were prepared. After looking at each design and making necessary changes, a form was chosen.
According to the director, the team wanted the Pushpak Vimana to appear on screen as something that was not merely an imaginary flying object. Its design should be such that the audience feels as if it can fly. With this in mind, its size and other details were worked out.
The initially decided form of Pushpak Vimana was quite different from the final design. This change affected other parts of the film as well.
Battle had to be re-planned due to change in Pushpak Viman
Nitesh Tiwari told that the fight between Ravana and Jatayu was first made keeping in mind the old design of Pushpak Vimana. The team had decided accordingly from which side Jatayu would attack and how the fight would proceed.
But when the new design of Pushpak Viman was finalized, many parts prepared earlier had to be changed. The characters' movements and camera shots during the fight were reworked.
That's why it took so long to complete the scene. According to Nitish, the film team was trying to improve every little thing, so that the story could be shown effectively on the big screen.
Ranbir Kapoor also praised the visual effects artists
Ranbir Kapoor has also expressed his views regarding the visual effects of the film. He said that a large number of artists work hard to create spectacular scenes in a film.
According to Ranbir, many times the audience, after seeing such scenes, immediately declares them to be made by AI, whereas the actors have to spend a lot of time in improving each frame.
He appreciated the hard work of the film's technical team. Visual effects have been used on a large scale in 'Ramayana', through which preparations are being made to show many important parts of the mythological story on screen.
