Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari has given a strong reaction to the BJP calling the India Alliance's rally held at Ramlila Maidan a 'flop show'. He accused BJP of spreading lies and misleading the public.
Speaking to IANS in Delhi, Pramod Tiwari said, “That's why I say that there is no other party that lies, misleads and is more shameless than the BJP. The media has also shown live that twice as many people were outside as were present in the ground. When Rahul Gandhi and all the leaders of the India Alliance were walking, the roads on both sides were filled with people.”
He said that today even the opponents are accepting that the rally was a tremendous success. If the general public is asked, the truth will come out. BJP's ability to lie cannot be assessed. It is ridiculous to call the historic rally which took place in front of everyone's eyes a flop.
Pramod Tiwari said, “We say that this was the most successful rally after independence, which has never happened till date. My appeal is that do not go by the numbers in the rally, go by the passion present there. There was only one resolution that now a corrupt and democracy-killing party like BJP has to be removed and a party that follows the Constitution has to be brought to power.”
He said, “Rahul Gandhi has absolutely rightly said that we will not let him go. He will have to answer for his crimes by staying here. Whether he stays in Delhi or in Gujarat, he will have to answer for the way democracy has been murdered and votes have been stolen. Rahul Gandhi clearly said yesterday that PM Modi has become the Prime Minister by stealing votes. He will have to answer for murdering the Constitution by becoming Prime Minister by stealing votes.”
Taking a dig at Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's statement that votes of more than one crore Hindus were deducted due to the SIR process in Uttar Pradesh, Pramod Tiwari said that CM Yogi has now become the new supporter of Rahul Gandhi. CM Yogi is right. He himself is admitting that the names of one crore Hindu voters were removed from the voter list.
Is this an excuse for defeat in 2027? Why did we lose? Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar is appointed by the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister. In such a situation, the question arises that why is he maintaining enmity with CM Yogi Adityanath? Why did they cut one crore votes?
Responding to the allegation leveled by two rebel Aam Aadmi Party MLAs on the Bhagwant Mann government of not fulfilling the promise of a drug-free Punjab, Pramod Tiwari said that it is like jumping from a sinking ship. He said, “There is an old saying that when a ship starts sinking, the people on board are the first to jump and run away. The same is being seen in Punjab too.”
