US President Donald Trump admitted that the decision to attack Iran was a boomerang. His party, the Republic, has suffered massive losses in the mid-term elections. The Senate and the House of Representatives—both missed out. Everyone from Trump to the top leadership of the party blames the Iran war for this situation. Although the political circles question, the Iran war was started by America and Israel. So why not try to meet it?
After the results of the election on Wednesday, Trump was contacted by the famous American news organization The Wall Street Journal. Asked why he lost, he said, “I think there were many reasons. The Iran war was definitely one of them. Also, the increase in oil and gas prices was not well received by our people. But my face was not on the ballot, so people did not vote.” According to Trump, he is not worried about this loss at all. They are not even thinking of bringing changes in the administration overnight.
On the other hand, US Vice President JD Vance X Handel said in a long message, 'We lost because of the Iran war. In addition, the problem of inflation in the country, doubts about whether the America First policy is working at all – these reasons have turned the voters away. Voters did not take America's good relations with Israel well.' According to Vance, the Iran war has become a burden for Republicans. That's why people who voted for Trump or Vance in 2024 are leaning toward the Democrats today.
It should be noted that the Republicans held 218 seats in the House of Representatives, the lower house of the US Congress. Democrats held 214 seats. On the other hand, in the Senate, the Democratic camp had 47 seats and the Republicans had 53 seats. Wednesday's results show Democrats won 54 of the 100-seat Senate. On the other hand, Democrats hold 228 of the 435-seat House of Representatives. The question is whether the entire party has to pay the price of Trump's stubbornness about the Iran war?
