Jumped into the pond to escape arrest, Vigilance team arrested him from the pond itself
A new case has come to light in Sambalpur, Odisha. Let us tell you that after being caught taking bribe, a police sub-inspector ran and jumped into the pond to escape from the vigilance team. However, the Vigilance Team officer also chased him by descending into the pond and caught him.
Accused SI Sujit Kumar Mahanta was arrested while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000. After recovering the bribe amount, his rest room was searched at Mahulpali police station, where additional cash of Rs 1 lakh 55 thousand 700 kept in an envelope was found. According to Odisha Vigilance, further investigation is going on in the matter.
