Good news for poor families of UP! Major change in marriage planning rules

Lucknow. In Uttar Pradesh, the government has made important changes in the Chief Minister Mass Marriage Scheme regarding the marriage of daughters of poor and needy families. Now brides marrying under this scheme will not be given silver jewellery. In their place, many useful household and personal items will be gifted by the government.

Apart from this, the amount sent to the daughter's bank account has also been increased. Under the new rule, now Rs 64 thousand will be sent to the beneficiary's account instead of Rs 60 thousand. With this change, poor families of the state are expected to get relief in marriage expenses.

You will get valuable gifts instead of silver jewellery.

Under the Chief Minister Mass Marriage Scheme, earlier brides were given silver jewellery. These included anklets and toe rings. But due to continuous fluctuations and increase in the prices of silver in the market, it was becoming difficult to provide jewelery of fixed weight within the stipulated budget. For this reason, changes have been made in the gifts of the scheme.

Now instead of silver jewellery, gifts worth about Rs 21 thousand will be given. These will include useful items like fiber box for keeping makeup items, five sarees, dinner set, cooker, trolley bag, iron press, ceiling fan, blanket and mattress.

Now ₹64,000 will come to daughter's account

The government has also increased the financial assistance provided under the scheme. Earlier, Rs 60 thousand were sent to the bank account of the beneficiary daughter, but now this amount has been increased to Rs 64 thousand. That means you will get four thousand rupees more than before.

Under the scheme, the government spends a total of Rs 1 lakh on the marriage of a couple. After the new changes its format will be as follows:

Expenses on organizing the wedding: Rs 15,000.

In bride's bank account: Rs 64,000.

Gift Contents: Around Rs 21,000.

In this way, a provision of Rs 1 lakh per marriage has been made by the government.
