BYD Denza Z9 GT— After strengthening its hold in the electric car market, BYD is now preparing for the entry of its luxury brand Denza in India. The company’s powerful electric car Denza Z9 GT has been spotted on Indian roads ahead of its launch. The special thing is that the car is seen in its signature green color. BYD’s Denza brand will debut in India on November 13, 2026. The initial lineup may also include the D9 luxury MPV along with the Z9 GT.
The Denza Z9 GT is a high-performance electric shooting brake car. Its biggest feature is three electric motors, 122.49kWh battery and maximum power of 1,156hp. According to the company’s international specifications, this car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.7 seconds.
Denza will enter India on 13th November
BYD has fixed November 13 as the date of entry of its luxury brand Denza in the Indian market. With this brand being positioned above the company’s existing electric car range, the Indian luxury EV market may see new competition.
The Denza Z9 GT and D9 MPV are expected to arrive as entry-level models. Z9 GT will be a sporty electric car, while D9 can be launched in the luxury MPV segment. Both models are reported to be imported into India as completely built units (CBU). However, official information about their Indian prices and delivery is awaited.
How strong is the car in terms of battery, motor and performance?
The electric version of Denza Z9 GT is quite strong in terms of performance. Its top-spec EV variant has a 122.49kWh battery and three electric motors. These motors together generate power of 1,156hp and torque of 1,210Nm.
Its speed figures are also quite impressive. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 2.7 seconds. Its maximum speed is said to be 270kmph. According to international WLTP testing, its range is around 600 kilometers. Range figures may vary due to different testing cycles and variants.
It is worth noting here that the range figure of 1,036 km is related to different specifications and CLTC testing. This should not be considered as the certified range available in India.
Strong performance will also be available in PHEV version
A plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the Denza Z9 GT is also available in the international market. It has a 2.0 liter turbo petrol engine and three electric motors with BYD’s DM technology.
This version has a 38.5kWh battery. Its electric-only range is said to be around 201 kilometers (CLTC). At the same time, with the help of petrol engine and electric motor, its combined range can be up to 1,100 kilometers. Even in this version, it takes about 3.6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph. However, confirmation is awaited on which powertrain will be offered in India.
You will get sporty look in design and exterior
Denza Z9 GT has been designed on the company’s Elegance in Motion design language. Its long bonnet, sloping roofline and flush door handles make it different from normal electric cars. Apart from this, split roof spoiler, attractive alloy wheels and wraparound tail lights also make its design special.
The signature green color of the car spotted on Indian roads is attracting special attention. Its shooting brake body style gives it a mix of sports car and premium wagon.
Three big screens will be available in the interior
The cabin of the car is also a good combination of technology and luxury. It has a 17.3 inch central infotainment screen. Apart from this, there is a 13.2-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver and a separate 13.2-inch screen for the front passenger.
Head-up display is also provided for the convenience of the driver. This makes important driving information visible in front and reduces the need to look at the screen again and again.

The official price of Denza Z9 GT in India is expected to be announced during the launch. In automobile reports, its possible ex-showroom price is being said to be around Rs 1.2 crore to Rs 1.5 crore. However, this is an estimated price, not the final price announced by the company.
The Denza D9 MPV is also expected to arrive in the Indian market. In such a situation, the launch event of November 13 can be important for BYD’s Indian luxury car strategy.
