New Delhi .In the second part of 'Ramayana', many such episodes of the Indian epic can be seen on the big screen, for which the audience has been waiting for a long time. The first meeting of Ram (Lord Rama) and Hanuman (Lord Hanuman), Hanuman's arrival in Lanka, burning of golden Lanka, construction of Ram Setu and the decisive battle between Ram and Ravana will be the major highlights of the story. To give a grand look to these scenes of the film, work is being done on visual effects i.e. VFX on a large scale. However, the audience will have to wait a long time to see these episodes on screen. The second part of the film is now planned to release on Diwali 2028.
Hanuman's role is going to be important in the story of the second part. After the meeting of Ram and Hanuman, the story reaches a point where preparations are made to reach Lanka to free Sita from Ravana's captivity. The incident of Hanuman reaching Lanka and his confrontation with Ravana can also have an important place in the film. According to the legend, Hanuman's tail is set on fire on the orders of Ravana. After this, with the help of the same fire, Hanuman creates a widespread stir in Lanka and sets the city of gold on fire. This scene may be included in the bigger action sequences of the film.
The incident of construction of Ram Setu along with burning of Lanka will also be an important part of the second part. To bring back Sita, Ram's army has to cross the ocean and reach Lanka. For this, Ram Setu is built on the sea with the help of monkey army. The scenes of construction of the bridge, the monkey warriors gathered there and the huge army moving towards Lanka can make the scale of the film much bigger. The construction of a bridge in the middle of the sea and the subsequent advance of the army are such events, which will require extensive preparation at the technical level to be shown effectively.
After reaching Lanka the story will enter the decisive phase of the war. The role of powerful warriors like Meghnad and Kumbhakarna will also be important before the final conflict between Ram and Ravana. In the film, the character of Meghnad is played by Raghav Juyal and the character of Kumbhakarna is played by Faisal Malik. The encounter between Laxman and Meghnad during the war and Kumbhakarna's entry into the battlefield will be important milestones in the story. After this, the decisive battle between Ram and Ravana will take the story to its final stage. In these scenes, along with a big war, conflict between different characters will also be seen.
The film's producer Namit Malhotra has made big claims about its VFX. According to him, his company DNEG is working on the visual effects of the film at a level it has never done before. The scale of VFX in the film, the complexity of the scenes and presenting a variety of effects simultaneously is a new challenge for the team. For this, new technologies and methods are also being worked on. These techniques will play an important role in making Lanka, Kishkindha, huge armies and war scenes impressive.
There has also been a change in the release date of the second part. It was earlier planned to release in 2027, but is now scheduled for Diwali 2028. According to Namit Malhotra, the team needed extra time to present the final part of the film on a large scale. Instead of completing the work in a hurry, the makers want to bring its grand finale on screen in a better way.
Initially there was a plan to make 'Ramayana' in three parts, but later it was decided to present the story in two parts. However, the possibility of a third part has not been completely ruled out. After the response the first part receives from audiences across the world, the producers may reconsider this direction. At present the film is being made in two parts only and the audience will have to wait till Diwali of 2028 for the second part.
