Big reshuffle in CSK and SRH before IPL 2027, four players including Liam Livingstone changed teams..

New Delhi . Before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2027, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have made major changes in their teams. A trade deal for four players has been completed between the two franchises. Under this agreement, England's explosive all-rounder Liam Livingstone and Australian all-rounder Jack Edwards have joined Chennai Super Kings. At the same time, left arm fast bowler Khalil Ahmed and Australian fast bowler Nathan Ellis will now play for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Liam Livingstone is being talked about the most in this trade. This aggressive batsman from England was earlier included in their team by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 13 crore. However, after the new trade deal, he has become a part of Chennai Super Kings for a fee of Rs 6 crore. In this way his IPL fees have decreased by Rs 7 crore.

Along with his aggressive batting, Livingstone also has the ability to bowl off spin and leg spin. He is known for playing big shots and can play the role of scoring fast runs in the middle order. Apart from batting, Chennai Super Kings are expected to get additional options in bowling as well. His experience and all-round ability can be useful for the team in the upcoming season.

Chennai has also included Australian fast bowling all-rounder Jack Edwards through this trade. He will play for the five-time IPL champion team for his current fee of Rs 3 crore. Sunrisers Hyderabad included him in the team before making his debut in international cricket. However, due to a leg injury, he could not play a single match in IPL 2026. Now Chennai is likely to get a useful batting option in the lower order along with fast bowling.

On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad has included Khaleel Ahmed in the team to strengthen its fast bowling department. Khaleel will play for Hyderabad at his current fee of Rs 4.8 crore. Even before this, he has played for Sunrisers Hyderabad from 2018 to 2021. In such a situation, he is returning to the team.

Khaleel's previous performance with Chennai Super Kings was also notable. He took 15 wickets while playing 14 matches in IPL 2025. However, his performance was affected due to injury in IPL 2026. He played only five matches and was ruled out of the entire season due to a quadriceps muscle injury in his right leg. Now Hyderabad will hope that he will be fit and strengthen the team's fast bowling attack.

Australian fast bowler Nathan Ellis has also reached Sunrisers Hyderabad in this trade deal. He will join the team at his current fee of Rs 2 crore. Ellis is known for his versatile bowling and effective performances in the death overs. With his presence, Hyderabad will get bowling options especially in the last overs of the innings.

With this exchange of four players, both the franchises have changed the team composition as per their need. Chennai has expanded its options in both the batting and bowling departments by including two all-rounders, while Hyderabad has tried to strengthen its bowling attack by adding two fast bowlers.

  • This change, which happened before IPL 2027, is being considered an important part of the strategy of both the teams for the upcoming season. Now the performance of these four players will be monitored to see how well they meet the needs of their new franchise.
