According to police officials, the influence of Maoism has almost ended in the district and now the main objective of the police is to establish a completely safe environment in the area. In the past, Maoists used various types of weapons and explosive materials to target security forces and carry out ambush attacks.
Police had received information that Maoists had hidden a large quantity of explosive material in the Tavve forest of Poste Gyarapatti area. On the basis of confidential information, on 4 November 2026, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police M. Ramesh, teams of Special Operation Team and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDDS) were sent for search operation.
During the operation, Special Operations Team and BDDS teams conducted a thorough search of the forest area. During the search, material hidden underground was recovered, which included several equipment used in preparing explosives and in attacks.
Police have recovered 11 cookers, three bundles of 100 feet long cortex wire, three kilograms of gun powder, four detonators, one 12 watt battery, 250 grams of firecracker gunpowder, four steel containers, eight wire bundles, one solar plate and other Maoist material from the spot.
Police believe that this material could have been used to target security forces in future. A possible big conspiracy has been foiled by timely action.
This action was carried out under the instructions and guidance of Superintendent of Police M. Ramesh and under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations) Karthik Madhira, Additional Superintendent of Police Gokul Raj, Additional Superintendent of Police Aheri (Pranahita) Harshvardhan BJ and Deputy Superintendent of Police (Operations) Sunil Uike.
