Digital Desk, Read: A massive fire suddenly broke out on Saturday night on a hill adjacent to the world famous Shri Badrinath Dham located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Within no time, high flames and smoke spread across the entire area. This fire was so terrible that its flames were clearly visible even from a distance of about two kilometers. As soon as information about the incident was received, there was panic in the forest department and a team of employees was immediately sent to the spot.

Challenge in extinguishing due to inaccessible geographical location

According to the information received, the rocks on the hill where the fire broke out near Badrinath Dham are steep and quite inaccessible. Because of this, forest workers are facing great difficulty in controlling the fire. Despite all the difficulties, the teams of the department are making continuous efforts to extinguish the fire since late night.

At present, the exact cause of the fire has not been known yet. Apart from this, the real assessment of the extent of damage caused to the forest wealth and environment by this natural disaster will be known only after the fire is completely extinguished. Administration and forest department teams are continuously monitoring the situation.
