Jagdalpur. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the end of Maoist terror and Naxalite threat is the victory of the country's right policies and strong political will. Celebrating Diwali with security personnel at the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Karanpur in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh, Modi said, our government took such decisions which caused a huge blow to the 'funding' of Naxalites and separatists.
Modi said the decisions taken by the government destroyed the network of fake currency and stopped the supply line of Naxalites and separatists. He said that the fight against Maoist terrorism and Naxalism was not easy, there was a time when more than 230 districts of about 20 states were affected by Naxalism.
Modi said that to take the country forward, the country's enemies have to be crushed with unwavering determination and a well-planned strategy. The Prime Minister said that the lack of political will in the country was removed in 2014, when you gave this 'Pradhan Sevak' a chance to serve 'Bharat Mata'. He said that this is the first time in 47 years that not a single CRPF soldier was martyred in the line of duty in the last one year. Bastar, long known as the epicenter of left-wing extremism (Naxalism) in Chhattisgarh, has witnessed a major transformation following anti-terrorism operations, large number of surrenders and promotion of development works.
Previous governments had tied the hands of the security forces
The Prime Minister said, earlier governments had tied the hands of the security forces in fighting on the ground. Naxalite attacks used to happen but the security forces did not have the freedom to retaliate openly, we gave the security forces the freedom to take every necessary decision. Earlier, we also worked to stop the support leftist extremism received from some people in the government and system. He said, we were moving towards a very big goal. Our goal was that no mother's lap should be abandoned, no family should face devastation, no child should take up arms and go on the path of violence, no youth's future should be ruined, so until this goal was achieved, we continued with determination.
We broke the back of Maoist terror
Modi said, no publicity, no pretense, we broke the back of Maoist terror by working with sensitivity. We changed the lives of people in Naxal affected areas with the spirit of service, hence the people suffering from Naxalism have also stood firmly with the government and security forces.
Brainy Naxalites took over many organizations
The Prime Minister said, amidst the successes, we have to remember one more thing, the Naxalites have been eliminated but the threat has not gone yet, the Naxalites with weapons have been eliminated from the forests, but the mental Naxalites have captured many organizations. Even today, they are instigating people against the Constitution and democracy of the country. These mindless Naxalites have infiltrated into many political parties and different organisations. We have to identify them, defeat them and secure the country.
