Automobile Desk: Demand for electric two-wheelers in the Indian automobile sector is rapidly reaching new heights. In this growing market, TVS Motor Company has created history. The company recorded its best-ever domestic electric scooter registrations in July 2026. According to recent data released by the Vahan portal (VAHAN), 55,480 TVS electric scooters were registered in July, the highest single-month figure in the company’s history.
This achievement is also considered historic because the company has broken its own record. Previously, in March 2026, TVS registered 51,781 electric vehicles. Driven by steadily increasing consumer demand and a strong dealership network, TVS has maintained its top position in the Indian EV two-wheeler segment. Meanwhile, in this competitive race, Bajaj Auto stood second with registrations of 45,592 units, while Ather Energy secured the third position with 30,324 units.
Speaking of the brand’s overall vehicle portfolio, TVS saw a significant increase of 38 percent in wholesale sales in July 2026. A total of 629,675 vehicles were delivered during this month, compared to 456,350 units in the same period last year, i.e., July 2025.
In the two-wheeler segment alone, the company sold a total of 603,138 bikes and scooters, registering a year-on-year growth of 38 percent. In the Indian domestic market, TVS sold 437,394 two-wheelers, representing a 42 percent increase compared to the previous year.
The rapid growth in the electric two-wheeler segment is a testament to the fact that Indian consumers are increasingly adopting electric alternatives over traditional petrol scooters. TVS’s total electric two-wheeler sales increased to 60,934 units in July 2026, representing an unprecedented growth of 158 percent, or more than two and a half times, compared to 23,605 units recorded in July 2025.
Beyond the domestic front, TVS Motor has also maintained its dominance in global markets. The company’s total international sales grew 29 percent to 184,264 units in July. Two-wheeler exports to overseas markets increased 27 percent to 165,744 units. Furthermore, the commercial vehicle segment also maintained a positive trend, with the company selling 26,537 three-wheelers in July. This figure represents a strong 51 percent increase over the same period last year.
