Method of making Moong Uttapam
- Step 1: To make yellow moong uttapam, soak it overnight. Now, in the morning, add roughly chopped ginger, green chilli, curry leaves, cumin, black pepper, gram flour, semolina and curd, salt, sugar and a little water in a mixer jar and grind it very smooth. Keep in mind that the pulses should be ground very finely. Your batter should be thick. Now take out the batter in a bowl.
- Second Step: Let us tell you that using semolina in the batter makes Uttapam very crispy. So if you want crisp and crunchy uttapam then you must add semolina in it. But if you want spongy and soft uttapam then do not use semolina in it.
- Step 3: Before you go to make uttapam, add baking soda and mix well. Now turn on the gas and place a non-stick pan on medium flame and grease it with oil. Now pour the batter on it and rotate it in a round shape. You can also add vegetables of your choice on it. Cook well from both sides and then serve hot with coconut chutney
