Big gift to the women of Delhi on Rakshabandhan! Cabinet approves ‘Lakshmi Yojana’, now you will get ₹ 2,500 every month

Before Rakshabandhan, great news has come for the women of Delhi. Delhi Government has approved the long pending ‘Delhi Lakshmi Yojana’ related to economic empowerment of women from the Cabinet. Under this scheme, financial assistance of ₹ 2,500 will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of eligible women every month.

Online registration will start from August 1

According to the Delhi government, a special digital portal has been prepared to implement the scheme in a transparent manner. This portal will be available to the general public from August 1, 2026. After this eligible women will be able to apply online.

The government plans to release the first installment to the initial batch of beneficiaries by Rakshabandhan after the process of application and document verification is completed.

CM Rekha Gupta said- promise fulfilled

After the scheme got cabinet approval, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta called it a big occasion of happiness for the women of Delhi. He said that the government has fulfilled its promise to the sisters of Delhi. According to the Chief Minister, the objective of ‘Delhi Lakshmi Yojana’ is to make women self-reliant and financially strong by giving them financial assistance of ₹ 2,500 every month.

Eligibility for ‘Lakshmi Yojana’

  • The age of the woman should be between 21 to 60 years.
  • The woman or her family must be residents of Delhi for at least 10 years.
  • The annual income of the family should be less than ₹2.5 lakh.
  • If there is more than one eligible woman in a family, the oldest woman will get the benefit.

Documents required for application

The applicant will need Aadhaar card, Delhi Voter ID, income certificate, residence certificate, active DBT-linked bank account in woman’s name, passport size photograph and mobile number.
