A big shadow over Argentina football amid FIFA World Cup, FBI investigation on AFA’s financial activities increases the troubles of Messi’s team

New Delhi .Amidst the excitement of the FIFA World Cup, the current world champion Argentina football team has come into the news due to a new controversy. This case is not related to the performance on the field but to the financial activities of the Argentine Football Association (AFA). The American investigative agency FBI is investigating financial transactions worth millions of dollars of the federation. It is being told that the main objective of the investigation is to find out how the huge amount of money sent through the US banking system was used and whether there are any elements related to financial crime or money laundering in these transactions. A detailed investigation is being conducted to confirm the transparency and legality of these financial transactions.

Argentine Football Federation President Claudio Tapia has been in the news in the past due to various administrative controversies. Questions have been raised on his leadership regarding changes made to the domestic football structure, selection of friendly matches and other decisions.
