Mathura/Govardhan: During Giriraj Parikrama on Tuesday, a sensational incident took place in the Giriraj foothills located on Badi Parikrama Marg. A devout girl of Kashmiri Pandit origin, resident of Mumbai, who was doing parikrama, was suddenly attacked by an unknown youth. It is alleged that the young man bit the girl's nose with his teeth. In the attack, her nose was deeply injured and she bled. After the incident, the accused also ran away with the clove worn in the girl's nose. The incident created chaos among the devotees present on the parikrama route.

It was told that the devout girl was living in Govardhan for the last six months. She was staying in a colony near Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple located on Chhoti Parikrama Marg and used to circumambulate Giriraj Maharaj every day. On Tuesday she was circumambulating through Badi Parikrama Marg. Meanwhile, a young man who was begging there asked him to give alms. The girl started moving forward when the accused allegedly suddenly attacked her. The girl suffered serious injury to her nose due to the attack by the young man. There was blood on his face and clothes.

The girl got scared due to the sudden incident and started screaming for help. The devotees present nearby were also frightened after seeing the incident. As soon as the information was received, Govardhan police reached the spot and took information about the incident from the girl. The police sent the injured girl to the hospital for treatment. In search of the attacker, the police have started scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby.

SSP Shlok Kumar said that information about attack on a woman was received in Govardhan police station area. According to preliminary information, after asking the woman to give alms, a man attacked her, causing deep injury to her nose. According to the SSP, the attacker is being described as mentally disturbed. The woman has been sent to the hospital for treatment. The accused is being searched and the footage of nearby CCTV cameras is being checked. Police say that the arrest of the attacker will be ensured soon.
