In an emotional post posted on Facebook, Kushagra Sagar wrote – Served as family for 11 years. Being associated with any organization for 11 years is not just a political association, but an emotional relationship. I treated the organization as my family, gave my 100%, made every possible effort despite personal difficulties and all adverse circumstances. He further wrote that the pain is not of position or prestige, but of loss of respect and trust. When I did not get the feeling of belonging even after 11 years of hard work, I felt hurt. This is not the end, this is a new beginning of self-respect. After this post of his, the stir in the politics of the district has intensified.
reason for resentment
Kushagra Sagar was angry for a long time with the importance given to current MLA Ashutosh Maurya alias Raju in BJP. Ashutosh Maurya is an MLA from SP, but after cross-voting in the Rajya Sabha elections, discussions about his inclination towards BJP are intensifying. In April 2024, his wife Sushma Maurya (former chairman Bilsi Municipality) and sister joined BJP. It was being considered as the trailer of 2027 ticket, due to which dissatisfaction increased in the Kushagra camp.
Father has also been an MLA

Kushagra Sagar comes from a big political family of Bisauli. His father Yogendra Kumar Sagar has been an MLA. Kushagra himself had won on BJP ticket in 2017 by 10,688 votes after getting 1,00,287 votes. There was a face-off again in 2022, but this time he lost the election by a very narrow margin of just 1,834 votes. He got 1,08,735 votes while Ashutosh Maurya got 1,10,569 votes.
Will join SP
Kushagra Sagar may soon join Samajwadi Party. If this happens, there will be a big upheaval on Bisauli seat before the 2027 assembly elections. On one hand Ashutosh Maurya joining BJP and on the other hand Kushagra joining SP. However, the official announcement of SP joining has not been made yet.
