Big gift for farmers of UP, drone banks will open in every district

The Uttar Pradesh government is going to take a big step towards making farming modern and technology based. Now “Drone Banks” will be established in every district of the state, through which farmers will get direct benefits of new technology in farming. The government believes that this will reduce the cost of farming, save time and also increase production capacity.

Farmers will get drones on rent

Under the new system, farmers will be able to use drones on rent instead of buying them. With Drone Bank, farmers will be able to easily spray pesticides, liquid fertilizers and medicines in their fields. For this, farmers will have to deposit the fixed fee, after which trained operators will spray the fields through drones.

The government says that most of the farmers of the state are not able to buy expensive agricultural drones. In such a situation, the Drone Bank Scheme can prove to be very beneficial for small and medium farmers.

Government will give 50 percent grant

The Drone Bank scheme is being taken forward under the World Bank supported “UP Agris” project. The government will also provide up to 50 percent subsidy for purchasing drones. Drone banks will be operated through Agri Junction and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO).

Experts believe that drone technology will reduce labor costs in farming and will also reduce water consumption. Effective spraying of one hectare field will be possible in less time.

Also helpful in monitoring crops

Drones will not be limited to spraying only. They will also be used to monitor fields, check soil quality and assess crop condition. Through drone technology, it will also become easier to identify nitrogen levels, waterlogging and dry areas in the fields. Apart from this, drones are also proving useful in tasks like monitoring animals and sowing seeds.

UP moving towards smart farming

The state government is continuously emphasizing on promoting smart farming and digital agriculture. Farmers are also being given training in AI and drone technology through programs like “Kisan Pathshala”. The government hopes that the Drone Bank Scheme will make farming more modern, eco-friendly and profitable. In the coming time, this technology can bring a big change in the agricultural sector of the state.
