The pairing of Rajesh Khanna and Asha Parekh won the hearts of the audience in the film Aan Milo Sajna, released in 1971. This song of the film was sung by legendary singer Kishore Kumar and music queen Lata Mangeshkar, while its lyrics were written by famous lyricist Anand Bakshi and the music was composed by the famous duo of Laxmikant Pyarelal. The feelings of love and separation have been woven into the song in a very simple and beautiful style, due to which it remains a part of people’s favorite playlist even today.

The story related to the making of this song is no less interesting. It is said that Anand Bakshi and composer Laxmikant Pyarelal spent the whole day deliberating on which words would best suit the tune of the film. Despite hours of hard work, no satisfactory lines could be made. As soon as the evening started, Laxmikant said in a casual manner during the conversation, Okay, let’s go. To this Anand Bakshi replied smilingly, “When will we meet again?” The answer will come from the front when you ask. This simple conversation became the first lines of the song.

It is said that these four words gave a new direction to Anand Bakshi’s creativity and he immediately asked Laxmikant to stop. After this, the entire song was ready within just 25 minutes. This is why this song is still considered an example of the fact that sometimes the most memorable compositions are born suddenly and spontaneously.
