This fake propaganda is spreading rapidly in 2026 and common people are being confused in the name of “Pradhan Mantri Loan Scheme”. PIB and the government have clarified that no such scheme exists. Its aim is to obtain personal information of users by taking them to fake websites.
How Aadhar Card Loan Scam is spreading on social media
Users are being attracted through sponsored advertisements on YouTube and other social media platforms. In these, the promise of giving loan up to Rs 3 lakh is given on less documents, due to which people are easily influenced.
These ads include buttons like Apply Now, flashy graphics, and fake links or QR codes. On clicking, the user is taken to an external website or app, where there is a risk of stealing their personal information.
Government and PIB gave clarification on fake scheme
Government’s fact checking agency PIB has clarified that there is no scheme of Rs 3 lakh by the name of “Pradhan Mantri Loan Scheme”. This claim is completely false and misleading.
Government agencies have advised people to confirm any scheme only from the official website or trusted government portal. Such offers seen on social media are often made to deceive people.
How to protect yourself from such scams
According to experts, one should not share one’s Aadhaar, bank or personal information on any unknown link or app. Fake websites can also be identified by URL and spelling mistakes.
If you see any suspicious advertisement, you should report it immediately and do not trust any offer without checking. Awareness is the strongest way to protect against this type of cyber fraud.
