Sonam Wangchuk is admitted in the hospital

Sonam Wangchuk, who was on hunger strike for 21 days continuously, was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi on Saturday after her health deteriorated. According to the hospital administration, he has become very weak due to prolonged fasting and lack of water in the body.

Doctors said that at present his condition remains stable, but constant medical monitoring, treatment and care is required to make a complete recovery. The medical team of the hospital is constantly monitoring his health so that any kind of complication can be avoided.

Delhi Police told the reason for taking him to the hospital

Police also said that during the action, some protesters tried to interfere, which created an atmosphere of mild tension for some time. However, the police exercised restraint and completed the entire process peacefully. Besides, an appeal was also made to the protesters present at Jantar Mantar to vacate the site peacefully.

Wife made special appeal to doctors

Sonam Wangchuk’s wife Geetanjali J Angmo shared a post on social media requesting the hospital administration that her husband not be given any oral or intravenous medicine or treatment without the consent of the family and his medical team. He said that the team of doctors taking care of Wangchuk for the last 20 days is fully aware of his health condition, hence permission of the family and concerned doctors is necessary before any medical procedure.

Preparation for ‘Chalo Sansad’ march on 20th July

Sonam Wangchuk and activists associated with CJP have been protesting for a long time over alleged examination irregularities and NEET-UG controversy.
