Patna. A right march was taken out under the leadership of Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) and Bhim Army in Patna on Saturday regarding alleged irregularities and various demands in the 70th examination of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). The march started from Gandhi Maidan as soon as it reached JP Golambar, the police stopped it by barricading. There was also a scuffle between the protesters and the police who were trying to move forward. The police have detained about 20 protesters. In view of the situation, heavy police force has been deployed in Gandhi Maidan and surrounding areas.
Police stopped march on JP Golambar-
The protesters marched from Gandhi Maidan towards JP Golambar in support of their demands. Police force was already deployed here by barricading. The protesters tried to move forward, but were stopped by the police. During this time, a situation like argument and scuffle arose between the two parties. The police did not allow the protesters to go beyond JP Golambar.
Demand for judicial inquiry into BPSC 70th exam-
The main demand of the protesters is a judicial inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the BPSC 70th examination. Apart from this, they are demanding action against BPSC Chairman and making the examination process fair. The protesters allege that students were discriminated against in the process of examination and results.
Demand for 85% domicile policy and online FIR-
In the Adhikar March, the demand for implementing 85 percent domicile policy in government recruitments of Bihar was also raised. Along with this, a demand has been made to start online FIR facility for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The protesters have also demanded improvement in salary, employment, security and living standards of sanitation workers of municipal bodies.
Demand for resignation of Education Minister-
The protesters also raised the demand for the resignation of the Education Minister of Bihar. They allege that the government is not taking serious action on issues related to students and youth. The protesters said that their agitation will continue until the examination process is cancelled.
'Will march till Raj Bhavan, will not step back'-
People involved in the protest alleged that poor and economically weaker students were allegedly discriminated against in the BPSC examination and the rich class was given advantage. He said that there were preparations to march to Raj Bhavan in protest against this. The protesters made it clear that the agitation will continue until their demands are met.
