“Adipurush is the biggest mistake of my life”, Manoj Muntashir’s big statement

Mumbai: It has been three years since Prabhas’s ‘Adipurush’ was released, but even today it is considered one of the most disaster films of Indian cinema. Manoj Muntashir had written the dialogues of this film directed by Om Raut. Three years after the film’s release, Om Raut described this film as the ‘biggest mistake’ of his life. In a recent interview, Muntashir recalled the criticism that the Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer film received and admitted that he felt ‘ashamed’ of it.

Three years after the release of the film ‘Adipurush’, its dialogue writer and lyricist Manoj Muntashir has openly admitted his mistakes for the first time. He said that his experience related to the film became the biggest lesson of his life and even today he feels embarrassed by that entire controversy. Let us know what else Manoj Muntashir said.




  • In a recent conversation, Manoj Muntashir said, “Initially, I did not take it very seriously. It took me two days to understand it. ‘Adipurush’ was the biggest mistake of my life and defending that film was an even bigger mistake. I am very ashamed of whatever happened with the film and I apologize to this country for whatever happened.” The writer also addressed the criticism of the film’s dialogues and said, “Now when I look back, I feel ashamed that I wrote those dialogues. I don’t know during which trip I wrote them.”

    Let us tell you that ‘Adipurush’, made under the direction of Om Raut, was released on 16 June 2023. Artists like Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, Sunny Singh and Devdutt Nage were seen in the film. After its release, the film was embroiled in controversies regarding its dialogues, VFX and many creative decisions, after which the makers and the entire team had to face heavy criticism. It did so badly at the box office that it could not even recover its budget. It was made with a huge budget of Rs 500 crores and the film could earn only Rs 393 crores.
