ADM (NYSE: ADM), a global leader in innovative solutions based on natural resources, today announced that it will invest US$500,000 in a new partnership with international NGO TechnoServe to spread regenerative farming practices to 15,000 new soybean farmers in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The initiative is a part of the company’s “Farm Forward” campaign.

This 18-month local initiative, funded by “ADM Cares”, the social investment arm of the company, will be implemented in four districts of Maharashtra namely Latur, Dharashiv, Beed and Nanded. The program will focus on improving soil fertility and soil health, empowering Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and increasing farmers’ wider access to digital guidance tools and government schemes.
The partnership has been formalized by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), and the program will start from May 2026. Under this ADM will provide strategic direction, administration and monitoring, while Technoserv will be responsible for actual field implementation.
In line with sustainable agriculture priorities, the initiative will focus on reducing dependence on chemical inputs and promoting regenerative farming practices. Beyond environmental benefits, the program also aims to improve the livelihoods of participating farmers in the long term. Efforts will be made to strengthen farmers’ income by increasing more consistent production and cost efficiency. The initiative is creating a pathway through which sustainable farming practices can lead to real economic growth, thereby helping to make agricultural supply chains in the region more inclusive and reliable.
The program will begin with an initial phase of detailed assessment of soil fertility and water status. For this, the existing technology based measures of the government will be used. Based on this study, farmers will be provided with agricultural guidance tailored to their circumstances, which will help them make more informed decisions. After this infrastructure work, about 200 demonstration plots will be set up in the program villages during two cropping seasons. Through this, farmers can see and adopt farming practices that improve soil health, conserve water and increase long-term productivity. To ensure long-term impact of the programme, around eight Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) will be established, which will act as centers for rural agricultural development.
Integration of digital agriculture measures with various government schemes will also be encouraged under this programme. This also includes the Maharashtra Government’s “Maha-Agri Tech” project. This state level initiative is being implemented to empower farmers with the help of precision farming technology. With the help of satellite-based information and drone technology, farmers will get information-based guidance on crop status, pest infestation and field conditions. Therefore, it will be possible to take more timely and correct decisions at the farm level. It will also help in more accurate and efficient use of fertilizers and crop protection products. Along with this, farmers will be connected to advisory platforms like the “Mahavistar” app, which will provide them with instant and personalized agricultural guidance.
