According to reports, shells were also fired on the campus of Syed Jamaluddin Afghan University, causing extensive damage to the university building. The condition of many of the 45 people injured in this attack remains critical, due to which the death toll is expected to increase.

Death of a child fueled the fire

The situation worsened in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province late on Sunday night when Pakistani army reportedly shot an Afghan child. After this incident, Afghan security forces immediately started retaliating, leading to heavy firing from both sides. According to local residents, the Pakistani army was firing mortar shells at Lukman village of Spin Boldak, to which the Afghan forces gave a befitting reply.

According to Taliban sources and Amu TV report, Afghan forces targeted Pakistani military posts in this encounter, in which six Pakistani soldiers were killed and one was captured alive.
