After Ajit Pawar, tussle over leadership in NCP, senior leaders raised questions on Parth's decisions

After the demise of Ajit Pawar, discussions have intensified in the Nationalist Congress Party regarding leadership, organizational appointments and possible merger with the Sharad Pawar faction. There are reports of differences emerging within the party after the meeting with Amit Shah and the core committee meeting. Discussions are also going on regarding the Finance Ministry and the future of both the groups.

Tezzbuzz Desk – After the death of Ajit Pawar, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faces the challenge of handling the organization and deciding the future political strategy. Issues like the process of taking major decisions in the party, role of senior leaders and possible merger with the Sharad Pawar-led faction are under discussion. Meanwhile, the meeting of NCP leaders with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the core committee meeting held in Mumbai is being considered important.

According to the report, in the core committee meeting, some senior leaders expressed displeasure over the way Parth Pawar was working. The objection of the leaders was regarding the appointments of Zeeshan Siddiqui on the post of Mumbai President and Umesh Patil on the post of National Spokesperson. He said that the core committee members should have been consulted before making these appointments. In the meeting, Parth Pawar and Jai Pawar assured that in future, major decisions will be taken after discussion with senior leaders.

Finance Ministry issue in meeting with Amit Shah

According to sources, in the meeting with Amit Shah, NCP leaders demanded to be given the Finance Ministry as soon as possible. The party also put forward its stand regarding the merger of the two Nationalist Congress factions. According to the report, NCP wants to strengthen its stake in the government while maintaining its separate political identity.

A major issue of discussion within the NCP is its possible merger with the Sharad Pawar-led faction. According to sources, Prafulla Patel is in favor of the unification of both the groups, while Sunetra Pawar is not in favor of it. She wants to take the party forward with a different identity under her leadership.

According to the report, before the death of Ajit Pawar, there were four meetings between senior leaders of both the factions regarding the merger. Now the focus is on whether those discussions will be taken forward or whether both the groups will continue to follow different political paths.

In the event of a possible merger, questions like who will command the party and what responsibility will Supriya Sule get are also under discussion. However, no final decision has been revealed on these issues.

BJP's role is also important regarding merger

BJP's stand regarding the merger of both the factions is also considered important. Amidst this possible political change, the question is arising whether Sharad Pawar will join NDA and whether BJP will be ready for such an alliance. At present no final decision in this regard has been confirmed.

In the core committee meeting, a decision was also taken to call a joint meeting of all the party MLAs. According to the report, it was agreed to resume the process of talks between the leaders and MLAs. Apart from this, it was decided to send ministers and MLAs on tour to drought affected areas.

Sanjay Raut targeted NCP

Amidst this political development, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut commented on NCP on social media platform X. He alleged that the self-respect of Maharashtra and the Nationalist Congress Party formed by a Marathi leader have been handed over at the feet of businessmen from Gujarat. He also made sharp remarks about the party leaders.

After the death of Ajit Pawar, the challenge for NCP is to maintain organizational unity, remove the resentment of senior leaders and decide the future political direction. In the coming days, decisions regarding party leadership, demand for Finance Ministry and possible merger of the two factions may be important for the politics of Maharashtra.
