After Dharmendra Pradhan, Prahlad Joshi took charge of the Education Ministry, expressed gratitude to PM Modi
Tezzbuzz Desk – Union Minister Prahlad Joshi has taken charge of the Education Minister. After assuming charge, he thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he will fulfill this responsibility with full devotion and duty.
Union Minister Prahlad Joshi took charge of the Education Ministry on Sunday. He has been given this additional responsibility after the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Amidst the protests by students across the country and questions raised regarding the education system, the command of the ministry has now come into the hands of Prahlad Joshi.
After assuming charge, Prahlad Joshi expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by sharing a post on social media. He wrote that he is grateful to the Prime Minister for entrusting him with the responsibility of Education Minister and will try his best to fulfill this responsibility with humility and sense of duty. Soon after assuming charge, he also held a review meeting with senior officials of the ministry.
Many big challenges before the Education Ministry
Pralhad Joshi is already holding the charge of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. Now after getting the responsibility of the Education Ministry, he will face important challenges like making the examination system more transparent, improving the education system and strengthening the confidence of the students. After the controversies that have arisen regarding the examination process in recent times, the expectations of the youth have also increased a lot.
He is counted among the experienced leaders of BJP.
Prahlad Joshi is counted among the senior and experienced leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party. He was born on 27 November 1962 in Vijaypur, Karnataka. He received his early education in Hubli and later completed his graduation from Sri Kadsiddheshwar Arts College. Before coming into politics, he was also associated with business.
Journey from RSS to Parliament
Prahlad Joshi has been associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for a long time. He started his political career from Dharwad region of Karnataka. Reached the Lok Sabha for the first time in the year 2004 and since then has won the elections from Dharwad parliamentary seat five times consecutively. Joshi, who has been active in Parliament for more than two decades, has held the responsibility of many important ministries in the central government.
Between 2019 and 2024, he headed the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines. After the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he was given the responsibility of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and New and Renewable Energy. Now with the additional responsibility of the Education Ministry, he will have the huge responsibility of giving a new direction to the education system of the country and strengthening the confidence of the students.
