Weather Update – Extremely Heavy Rain Alert in Delhi, East Rajasthan; 20+ States over the Next 48 Hours
Weather Update: Rain alerts have been issued for most states nationwide. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heavy to very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds in several states over the coming days. The department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas of Odisha on July 26 and 27.
Additionally, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in some areas on July 28. In a weather bulletin, the IMD stated that heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Gujarat on July 26 and 27. An alert for heavy rainfall has also been issued for parts of Jharkhand from July 26 to 28.
According to the IMD, rainfall activity will intensify across North, West, Central, and Northeast India due to a low-pressure area over southeastern Rajasthan and adjoining Madhya Pradesh, an active monsoon trough, and a cyclonic circulation. The impact is most significant in Gujarat, where extremely heavy rainfall is predicted in several areas.
The IMD has forecast torrential rain in Gujarat, while heavy rainfall is also likely in Rajasthan, Delhi-NCR, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, and parts of the Northeast. Let us take a look at the weather forecast for your city in the coming days.

Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad tomorrow, July 27. The IMD states that rainfall intensity will increase from July 27, with heavy rain likely in some locations. The sky will remain cloudy, and humid conditions will persist.
Heavy Rain Warning for Rajasthan
The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall alert for several districts in eastern Rajasthan, including Jaipur. Forecasts indicate extremely heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning and strong winds in some areas.

Rainfall in Madhya Pradesh
An alert has been issued for heavy rainfall across several parts of Madhya Pradesh over the next two days. Additionally, rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds is expected in some locations.
Landslide warnings for Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand
Heavy rainfall is forecast for both these hill states over the coming days. The Meteorological Department predicts very heavy rainfall in some areas starting July 27. The IMD has advised residents in landslide-prone zones and low-lying areas to remain alert.
Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi
Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in Punjab and Haryana. The Meteorological Department indicates that a spell of heavy rainfall could begin in several areas starting July 27.
Rainfall warnings for Bihar and West Bengal
An alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for several districts in Bihar. Meanwhile, thunderstorms, strong winds, and moderate to heavy rainfall are forecast for the Gangetic plains of West Bengal.
Rainfall in Odisha
Heavy rainfall, along with thunderstorms and strong winds, is expected in several districts of Odisha over the next two days.
Weather outlook for South India
An alert has been issued for Telangana regarding heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning strikes, and strong winds.
Karnataka Weather Update:
Rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely in the interior regions of Karnataka, while heavy rainfall is forecast for coastal Karnataka.
