Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke has claimed that the movement to be held at India Gate on September 5 will be bigger than the Jantar Mantar demonstration. Accusing the Central Government of not fulfilling its promises, CJP has announced to take out a protest march from India Gate to Delhi Police Headquarters. Deepke has indicated that after the march, the protesters may sit on dharna outside the Delhi Police Headquarters. He said that there are plans to continue the protest there until the FIRs registered against the protesters are withdrawn. Deepke also said that if the police uses force during the protest, the CJP is ready for this also.
'First the Supreme Court gave the excuse'
Abhijeet Deepke has accused the government of not fulfilling the promises made to the students. He claimed that during the protest, it was said that the FIR lodged against the students would be withdrawn, but now the government is procrastinating in this matter. According to Deepke, initially the government had cited the Supreme Court order for not withdrawing the FIR. He claims that the government had said that it cannot take action in this matter due to the Supreme Court order. After this, another order came from the Supreme Court, in which a list of cases related to the government was sought. However, Deepke alleges that the government has not yet provided this list to the court. The government is betraying those students who had joined the movement for their demands related to the education system. He said that if the condition of the education system was not so bad then such a big movement would not have arisen.
'We were forced to protest again due to government's procrastination'
Due to alleged procrastination on the part of the government, they have had to again adopt the path of agitation. He claimed that the anger of the youth has not calmed down yet and this time we may see a movement even bigger than Jantar Mantar. Before ending the previous movement, the government had accepted the demand of withdrawing the FIR registered against the students. He claimed that the agitation was ended after this assurance, but even after one month has passed, the government has not taken any decision in this matter. He said that if the government backtracks on its promise then agitation will be organized once again. Deepke claimed that after the announcement of the proposed movement of September 5, reactions of youth are being received on social media and many people are calling it 'Season-2'.
March plan from India Gate to Police Headquarters
Abhijeet Deepke has given the strategy of protest regarding the proposed movement of 5th September. He said that the protesters will first gather at India Gate and from there they will march to Delhi Police Headquarters. After reaching the police headquarters, the protesters are planning to stay there until the FIR registered against the students is withdrawn.
'India Gate a symbol of democracy and resistance'
On the question of choosing India Gate as the protest site, Deepke said that it has been a symbol of fight and protest for rights for a long time. Referring to the Nirbhaya movement of 2012, he said that even at that time a large number of people had gathered at India Gate with their demands. Earlier, when people had to register their struggle on any issue, they used to gather near Amar Jawan Jyoti. According to him, in the last few years, India Gate has been isolated from the center of protests. For their organisation, India Gate is a symbol of democracy and resistance. Deepke raised the question that if big movements could have taken place here in the past, then why can't it happen now.
'Country's image is getting tarnished, police may use force again'
Regarding the proposed movement of September 5, the DCP of New Delhi has said that permission will not be taken for the demonstration or march. Responding to this, Abhijeet Deepke said that the job of police officers is to take decisions on applications related to permission and no officer is above the Constitution. Deepke also mentioned the alleged police use of force on July 20. He raised the question whether the police wanted to take action against the students once again. They allege that students were allegedly assaulted during the last demonstration. On the possibility of the police stopping the proposed march and creating a conflict situation, Deepke said that if the police uses force, it will be the responsibility of the administration. He said that the protesters want to raise their voice for their demands.
