The Delhi Police has registered a fresh FIR under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act against Swatantra Bhardwaj, accused of allegedly assaulting the father of a CJP activist at Jantar-Mantar, based on a complaint.
This is because the victim is a minor. The SC/ST Act has also been added to the previous FIR. According to Delhi Police, Swatantra Bhardwaj has not been arrested yet. However, he is in police custody. Following strong protests by CJP activists, the police have taken this drastic action.
There was a demand for SC-ST and POCSO
The CJP and other party workers, including Sagir, demanded enhancement of charges in the case and implementation of SC/ST and POCSO laws. Delhi Police promised to act within 72 hours. Currently, the Delhi Police seems to be living up to its promise. The police have lodged a fresh FIR under the POCSO Act against the accused Swatantra Bharadwaj. Sections of the SC/ST Act have also been added to the FIR already registered.
Accused detained from Bulandshahr
Following the huge ruckus and protests at the Parliament Street police station on Friday, the Delhi Police took significant action. According to media reports, the police have arrested Charismatic Swatantra Bhardwaj accused of assaulting CJP activist’s father Sanjay Kumar during a Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Jantar-Mantar in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr.
After the claim came into independent discussion
The entire matter came to light after a viral video in which Swatantra Bhardwaj himself claimed to have beheaded the father of a CJP activist during a CJP protest. In the video, he boasted that the Delhi Police let him go because of his political connections. In the viral clip, Bharadwaj allegedly says that Sanjay Kumar suffered a severe head injury and required 60 stitches.
