Ahaan Pandey’s painful journey: After the success of ‘Sayyara’, he made a tremendous comeback after shoulder surgery and being in plaster for months.

New Delhi: The tremendous success of the film Saiyara gave Ahan Panday a new identity overnight but behind this shine there was a pain hidden which he kept hidden from the world. While on one hand the film proved to be a blockbuster, on the other hand Ahan was struggling with a serious physical ailment. He had to undergo shoulder surgery soon after the release and was kept in plaster for several months.

It was told that during a snowmobile accident a few years ago, he had suffered subluxation in his shoulder, i.e. the shoulder had partially dislocated. Initially he ignored it but while preparing for the action sequence the pain increased. Fitness training started getting affected and even lifting weight became difficult. Ultimately the doctors made it clear that it would not be possible to proceed without surgery.

Ahaan revealed in an interview that this surgery is very painful and its recovery period is long. Doctors had warned him that after the operation his body would go to almost zero and it would be almost impossible to rebuild his body for the next film. Hearing this was a big shock for any budding actor, especially if he wants to prove himself in the action zone.

The situation after surgery was even more challenging. Ahaan remained in plaster for several months. He was not able to move properly and was completely away from the gym. Actors who were earlier inspired by fitness transformation were now confined to bed. He admitted that it was a very difficult period mentally also. He says that earlier he used to be motivated by those actors who had traveled from unhealthy to healthy but his case was different because he was injured and had to start slowly from zero.

The interesting thing is that he did not make his surgery public. Ahaan, who maintained distance from social media, was rarely seen. People started asking his mother Dian Pandey why he was losing so much weight. No one had any idea that behind it lay a serious operation and a long recovery.

Now the situation has changed. Ahaan is making rapid progress towards getting fully fit and is busy preparing for director Ali Abbas Zafar’s upcoming action romantic film. He will be seen with actress Sharvari in this untitled project. He is working on a tremendous physical transformation for the film and is claiming to be back stronger than before.

Saira made him a star but this painful period also made him a stronger person. Now the audience’s eyes are on his next film where he will be seen not only as an actor but also as a fighter who continued his fight by hiding the pain.
