However, if the user subscribes for $9.99 per month, these memories can be preserved forever. The company has also stated that it will not introduce any future updates that completely change the identity of any AI companion.

However, public opinion about this AI pendant is divided. Some found the idea fascinating, while others called it terrifying. Some on social media compared it to science-fiction series like Black Mirror, while others said it exploited people’s emotions. Meanwhile, the company’s founder insists that Friend is neither an AI assistant nor a romantic partner.
