Signs of major rebellion in AIADMK! Leaders opened front in Palaniswami’s meeting, gave a big warning to the leadership
AIADMK Edappadi K Palaniswami: AIADMK is reviewing the performance after poor performance in Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. During the review, signs of dissatisfaction within AIADMK have started coming to the fore. Officials of various affiliated organizations associated with the party have expressed their strong displeasure over not getting adequate representation in the organization and being given limited opportunities to contest elections.
In fact, AIADMK General Secretary AK Palaniswami has organized review meetings at the district level these days. Their objective through these meetings is to assess the party’s performance in the assembly elections, understand the reasons for the defeat and prepare future strategies. The party is taking suggestions from leaders and officials of different districts regarding election campaign, functioning of the organization and further plans and strategies.
Party organizations raised the issue
According to party sources, office-bearers of the Women’s Wing, MGR Youth Wing, Youth Wing, Traders Wing and other associate organizations continuously raised the issue that they are not getting adequate representation in the organization and electoral politics. He says that despite working at the grassroots level for years, the wing was neither given important responsibilities in the organization nor did it get adequate opportunities to contest assembly or local body elections.
Recently, in the meeting of the women’s wing, many office bearers demanded that the number of women should be increased in important positions of the organization and more tickets should be given to women candidates in future elections.
Palaniswami held review meeting
In the same sequence, Palaniswami also held a review meeting with the officials of Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts. During this, some leaders raised questions on the working style of the IT wing of the party and said that during the elections they were not successful in responding effectively to the campaign of the ruling party.
According to sources, Palaniswami responded to this criticism by saying that not only the IT wing, but many other supporting organizations of the party also could not work at the expected level during the election campaign. He stressed the need for better coordination and strengthening organizational discipline in view of future elections.
Workers are not being given importance
Meanwhile, the MGR Youth Wing led by former MP SR Vijayakumar also held a brainstorming meeting on Friday. The officials involved said that despite making significant contribution to the party’s activities, youth wing workers are not being given enough importance. He also demanded more opportunities to contest elections and to be given leadership responsibilities in the organization.

Party insiders believe that this dissatisfaction is not limited to just one or two organizations, but there is a widespread demand from grassroots level workers and associate units that the party leadership should maintain better coordination with them, give them due respect in the organization and ensure more representation in electoral politics.
At the end of the meeting, MGR Youth Wing passed a resolution expressing gratitude to AK Palaniswami. The resolution said that under his leadership, the AIADMK-led NDA won 52 seats in the assembly elections. At the same time, another resolution criticized the ruling TVK government and alleged that its working style is largely similar to that of the previous DMK government.
