Air India starts the country’s first ‘Easy Connect’ international service from Varanasi Airport.

Varanasi. Today i.e. 25th June has proved to be a historical milestone for the air travelers of Purvanchal. Air India today grandly launched the country’s first ‘Easy Connect’ flight service from Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi. This revolutionary service was inaugurated by Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu by lighting the lamp. This is a new ‘Hub-and-Spoke’ international travel model of the Government of India. With the launch of this service, traveling from Varanasi to any corner of the world will become very easy and hassle-free.

Freedom from re-check-in and immigration in Delhi

The specialty of this service is that passengers going abroad from Varanasi will no longer need to collect their luggage, re-check-in or go through security check on reaching Delhi. Because the entire process of international immigration, customs and security check of passengers will be completed at Varanasi airport itself. Passengers will get the boarding pass and baggage tag for their foreign destination directly in Varanasi itself.

Daily flights and direct connections to 17 countries

This special ‘Easy Connect’ flight of Air India will be operated daily from Varanasi to Delhi as AI1111. Within 4 hours of reaching Delhi, through this service, passengers will be directly connected to connecting flights to 17 major international cities of the world including London, Dubai, Frankfurt, Singapore, San Francisco and New York.

Gift to 6 more cities in the next six weeks

Within the next six weeks, six other important airports of the country will also be connected to this model, so that citizens of Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities will be able to fly abroad directly from their homes. Passengers planning foreign travel from Varanasi can start booking their tickets for this special flight through the official website of Air India from today itself.
