The body of an Air India pilot has been found in a five star hotel room in Vasant Kunj, Delhi. There was a sensation after this incident in the hotel. The 40 year old deceased pilot was a resident of Mumbai. After conducting the post-mortem, the police handed over the body to his family. However, doctors believe heart attack to be the cause of the pilot's death.
Police said the pilot was staying in the hotel since Thursday during a layover. According to police, an autopsy was conducted at Safdarjung Hospital on Saturday to find out the cause of death and investigation was initiated under Section 194 of the Indian Civil Defense Code.

What did Delhi Police tell?
South West Delhi DCP Amit Goyal said the hotel informed Vasant Kunj North police station about the incident on Friday. After receiving the information, the police immediately deployed a police team for investigation. Hotel staff found the pilot unconscious in his room, after which he was taken to a nearby hospital. After investigation, doctors declared the pilot dead.
Did not answer brother's phone call
Giving information, the police said that the pilot was the captain of Air India and he had checked in to the hotel on Thursday. On Friday evening, the pilot's brother contacted the hotel manager and told him that his brother was not responding to his phone calls.
Police further said, 'After the brother's call, the manager went to the pilot's room. The room was locked from inside. The manager opened the door with the hotel's master key and found the pilot unconscious. The cause of death will be known after receiving the postmortem report. Further investigation is underway.

Air India replied
At the same time, in a statement, Air India said that it is deeply saddened by this incident. It said the pilot was listed to operate a flight early Saturday morning. The pilot previously worked with Air India Express and had joined Air India a few months ago.
An Air India spokesperson said, 'Air India is in close touch with his family and is providing all assistance in this hour of grief.'
