Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra (Retd.) has been appointed the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which oversees the construction and management of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Mishra, decorated with the Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medal (SYSM), Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), and Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM), served the Indian Air Force for over 38 years. He held key positions including Air Officer Commanding‑in‑Chief of Western Air Command, Commanding Officer of a Fighter Squadron, Chief Test Pilot at ASTE, and Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff.
His appointment marks the first time the Trust has named a CEO, signalling a move towards professionalised administration of the temple.
Alongside Mishra’s appointment, the Trust also inducted three new trustees: Delhi‑based Mahesh Bhagchandka, Ayodhya resident Madan Mohan Pandey, and Nirmala Yadav from Shikohabad. Bhagchandka is reportedly related to late VHP leader Ashok Singhal, a key figure in the Ram Temple movement.
The appointments were finalised during a crucial meeting of the Trust, reflecting its efforts to strengthen governance and oversight as the temple nears completion.
