Investigators said the suspect, identified as Mannan, a 15-year-old relative of the victim, had allegedly taken the girl out of the house on the pretext of getting her something. Police said that the girl was brought back home in a critical condition and was immediately taken to the hospital, where she died during treatment. Police say that doctors have confirmed signs of sexual assault. The teenager, identified as Mannan, has been taken into custody and sent to the Defense Police Station for further investigation. Police said that further legal action will be taken based on the medical report, while the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

When the media met the mother of the innocent child, the mother tearfully told about her daughter's injury and said, 'Aizal was at home with her aunt and I had gone to the back alley. Then Mannan took him to get things. The mother cried and told that he brought her back after 25 minutes and gave the child to her aunt. Mother says in agony that she was young and that is why she did not tell me where she was feeling pain. The mother told that when she changed her baby's diaper, the child was covered in blood.
When the mother took Aizawl to the hospital, the doctor said that she was not breathing but her heart beat was still going on. The mother said that she gave CPR to the child herself. The doctor advised her to go to another hospital, whereas when the mother was taking her in the rickshaw, the girl raised her eyes. The girl called her mother Mama for the last time and after that the girl died.
