Former Indian star batsman Ajinkya Rahane has expressed concern about the Indian team and criticized the team management. Rahane feels that an Indian bowler is getting limited opportunities in the Indian team, despite his ability to take wickets. He also commented on Kuldeep Yadav, who participated in the match between India and Sri Lanka Cricket XI. However, he did not get a chance to bowl in the second innings.
What did Ajinkya Rahane say?
He also didn’t get a chance to play in the three-match ODI series against England. He said, “I think Kuldeep has improved his game a lot in the last four or five years. He has worked on his ball speed in the air. It’s difficult for any player who is frequently in and out of the playing eleven because cricket is a game of rhythm.”
He further said, “The ball doesn’t come out of your hand the same way every day. With consistent play, you gradually develop a rhythm and are able to perform consistently. I am very happy with Kuldeep’s improvement. Whenever he has had a chance in white-ball cricket, he has performed brilliantly. Now he is more confident than ever. At the same time, it is difficult for him because he is not getting enough consistent opportunities.”
Kuldeep’s performance in the practice match
Kuldeep Yadav conceded 76 runs in 18 overs in the first innings of the practice match against Sri Lanka, dismissing two batsmen. However, in the second innings, the team management replaced him with Aaqib Nabi. Therefore, Kuldeep could not bowl a single over. Kuldeep has been overlooked in Team India even before this.
