Akash Anand returns to BSP, Mayawati again hands over the responsibility of national coordinator

Akash Anand was expelled from the party in September, publicly apologized to Mayawati on October 2; Now Mayawati has once again given him a chance to work in the party.

Tezzbuzz Desk Akash Anand has once again returned to Bahujan Samaj Party. BSP chief Mayawati has again appointed him as the national convenor of the party. This decision has been taken a few days after Akash Anand appealed to Mayawati to publicly apologize and give her a chance to work in the party again.

Earlier in September 2026, Mayawati had relieved Akash Anand from the responsibilities of the party. After this, his younger brother Ishaan Anand was given the responsibility of national coordinator. Now within about a month, Akash Anand has returned again.

Had publicly apologized to Mayawati

On October 2, Akash Anand publicly apologized to Mayawati on social media platform X and appealed to give her a chance to work in the party again. Describing Mayawati as his political guru and inspiration, he had said that for him BSP is not just a political party but his family. He also said that he wants to work for the party and the mission under the leadership of Mayawati.

Akash Anand had also said in his post that he wants to rebuild trust through his behavior and hard work. He had made it clear that he was not joining any other political party nor would he do so.

What did Mayawati say?

Announcing the return of Akash Anand, Mayawati said that not her personal family, but the entire Bahujan community is her big family and its welfare is paramount for her. He said that many strict decisions were taken recently to maintain discipline in the party and his own brothers, sisters and family members were no exception to this.

Mayawati said about Akash Anand that his personality has been fine to a large extent in the party, but in the past there were some reasons due to which many important changes had to be made in the organization. He also mentioned the retirement of Akash Anand's father-in-law Ashok Siddharth from politics. According to Mayawati, after this a change was seen in the personality and working style of Akash Anand.

Mayawati also mentioned Akash Anand's recent social media post, in which he had expressed his desire to work in the party again. Mayawati said most of the party people supported accepting Akash's request and giving him a chance to work again.

Ishaan Anand also agreed

According to Mayawati, Akash Anand's father Anand Kumar and his younger brother Ishan Anand also agreed to his return to the party. He told that Ishaan Anand has expressed his desire to work in the party without any post and has said that whatever responsibility will be given to him under the guidance of Mayawati, he will fulfill it with full honesty and devotion.

After this, Mayawati said that after much deliberation, in the interest of the party and the movement, Akash Anand is being given a chance to work in the party by making him the national convenor again. He expressed hope that after Ashok Siddharth's retirement from politics, everything will run smoothly in the organization and there will be no need for frequent organizational changes. However, he also said that a lot will depend on Akash Anand going forward.

Mayawati extended her love and blessings to Akash Anand as well as Ishaan Anand and Anand Kumar. He also thanked the Bahujan Samaj and his well-wishers for supporting him in the recent circumstances.

Akash Anand's return comes at a time when BSP is moving towards preparations for the 2027 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. After his re-appointment, his role in the organization and further political activism will now be monitored.
