Patna. Two players of the Indian cricket team, Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar, have received a big gift from the Bihar government, in which on July 24, both the players have been appointed to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police i.e. DSP under the ‘Bring Medal, Get a Job’ scheme on behalf of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. In the program held at Urja Auditorium in Patna, apart from fast bowlers Akashdeep and Mukesh Kumar, athlete Piyush Raj was appointed to the post of Police Sub Inspector i.e. SI. Apart from the CM, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Sports Minister Shreyasi Singh were also present in this program.
In a program held at Patna’s Urja Auditorium, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary gave appointment letters to Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar under the ‘Bring Medal, Get a Job’ scheme, while along with them, a total of 19 players were also given appointment letters in government service. Apart from athlete Piyush Raj, other players from different sports disciplines including five para players were also included. During this program, Bihar CM also presented sports scholarship selection letter and honorarium. Bihar government said that in the last two years, a total of 180 players who have performed brilliantly in various sports have been appointed in different government departments.
Bihar government gave an honorarium of Rs 37.50 lakh during this program to Setu Mishra, who won the gold medal in Asian Under-23 and silver medal in Athletics Championship 2026. Apart from this, a prize money of Rs 2 lakh was given to athletic Vibhaskar Kumar who had participated in the same event. Let us tell you that along with honoring the achievements of the players, the Bihar government is also emphasizing on promoting sports talents.
Both fast bowlers of Team India, Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar are currently out of the squad, with both of them eyeing a comeback. Akash Deep was out of the entire season due to injury during IPL 2026, after which now all eyes are on whether he will be able to make a comeback in the cup. Mukesh Kumar played for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026, but his performance was not as expected.
