Lucknow. Samajwadi Party national president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday targeted the BJP government of the state on several issues. In the press conference at SP's state headquarters, he raised questions on the government regarding land acquisition for Aligarh-Moradabad controlled Greenfield Expressway, farmers' compensation, employment, reservation, health services, cyber crime, waterlogging and matters related to Ayodhya.
Akhilesh Yadav alleged that cases of encroachment of government land, ponds and land of the poor are coming to light in the state. He also accused BJP of giving protection to people associated with the land mafia. However, these allegations are political statements of the SP President and he did not present any independent document during the meeting in support of them.
Demand for compensation as per market price
Akhilesh Yadav raised the issue of acquisition of farmers' land for the Aligarh-Moradabad controlled Greenfield Expressway. He said that the farmers are not against development, but their demand is that compensation for the land should be given as per the market price.
He said that if the government is taking farmers' land for development projects, then the future of farmers and their families should also be linked to that development. For this, compensation should be given as per the market price by increasing the circle rate. He said that there should not be any discrimination against farmers in land acquisition.
Said- Industries should be set up on land free from land mafia
The SP President said that the government talks about setting up industries, but if it really wants to promote employment and industrial development, then the lands which are being claimed to be freed from land mafia can also be used for industrial activities.
He raised the question that when the government claims that the land is already available then why is the land of farmers being acquired. He said that participation of farmers in development projects and protection of their interests should also be ensured.
Government cornered on employment and reservation
Akhilesh Yadav also targeted the government regarding employment and government recruitments in the state. He alleged that in the last ten years the youth did not get adequate employment and justice was not done to the youth even on the issue of reservation.
Referring to the Chief Minister's statement of providing one lakh jobs in six months, he said that three months of July, August and September have passed. According to him, the expected appointments in this direction have not been made yet. Akhilesh Yadav said that instead of discussing employment and government recruitment, other issues are being given importance.
He also alleged discrimination against teachers, lawyers, youth and farmers. He also questioned the government regarding cashless facility for teachers and lawyers and health services in government hospitals.
Concern expressed on cyber crime
Akhilesh Yadav also cornered the government regarding the increasing cases of cyber crime in the state. He alleged that the situation in Uttar Pradesh in cyber fraud cases is worrying. Referring to the cyber fraud involving engineers in Lucknow and the alleged big cyber fraud in Badaun, he said that along with the common people, doctors, engineers and professors are also becoming victims of cyber fraud.
He said that the government should prepare an effective system to prevent cyber crimes and ensure speedy action on the complaints of victims.
Issue of waterlogging raised in Lucknow and Gorakhpur
The SP President also cornered the government on the situation of waterlogging in the capital Lucknow. He said that the problem of waterlogging arises in many parts of the city during rains. He raised questions regarding dams, drains and drainage system.
Referring to Gorakhpur, Akhilesh Yadav raised questions on the municipal body and administrative system for the problem of waterlogging. He alleged that there is lack of proper planning in the works related to roads, drains, drains and bridges in the city. Taking a jibe at the Chief Minister, he said that the Chief Minister's direct interference in matters related to technology and engineering is also affecting the systems.
Allegations made on Ram temple offering case
Akhilesh Yadav also raised the issue of alleged irregularities in offerings and donations related to the Ram temple in Ayodhya. He said that such incidents have hurt the sentiments of people who believe in Sanatan Dharma. He claimed that some cases related to alleged theft have come to light on CCTV and the government should clarify how much money or metal was stolen.
He demanded transparency in this matter and said that the real situation should be put before the public through investigation.
Government also cornered on Shankaracharya issue
Referring to the incident related to Shankaracharya in Prayagraj, the SP President accused the state government of ignoring the respect of religious saints. He said that religious institutions and saints should be treated with respect.
Akhilesh Yadav also raised questions on the government regarding the number of deaths in the stampede during Mahakumbh. He alleged that the actual number of dead was not made public. In case of difference between the official figures released by the government on this issue and SP's allegations, the final number can be decided only on the basis of official records.
Government cornered on many issues in press conference
During the press conference, the SP President raised many issues ranging from farmers to youth, employment, health, law and order, cyber crime and urban drainage. He said that the benefits of development projects should reach the common people and farmers should get proper compensation in case their land is taken.
He demanded the government to take concrete steps in the fields of employment, health services, law and order and prevention of cyber crime. SP chief spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary and other party officials were present in the press conference.
