All major roads of Attari area of Amritsar will be made magnificent, CM Mann laid the foundation stone
Launching a massive development drive in Attari area of Amritsar, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today announced Rs 57.80 crore for the renovation of 121 roads spanning 137 km. He said that despite its strategic location along the Pakistan border, the long neglected areas will now see investment, better connectivity and new economic activities.
Keeping this initiative in line with better governance and border reforms, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Punjab government is actively working to remove the barbed wire from the border, open up lakhs of acres of land for farmers for uninterrupted farming, root out the menace of drugs and establish a mandate for development of Punjab in 2027.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that before our government came to power, Punjab had to face dark times when drug trade had spread in Punjab. People in power misused their power by giving protection to the drug trade in the state. He said that during the dark days, state government vehicles were used to supply drugs from one part of the state to another.
The Chief Minister said that these leaders derailed the progress and prosperity of the state and sowed thorns in the path of Punjab and our young generations. The hands of these leaders are stained with this crime against the state and history will never forgive them for backstabbing Punjab. These parties have destroyed generations of the state by filling the veins of the youth with the poison of drugs, for which they can never be forgiven. He said that it is ridiculous that the same people who are responsible for destroying Punjab due to drugs are now making false claims to fool the people.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann further said that these governments never cared for the state and the people, but rather destroyed the system, due to which the youth got the inclination to go and settle abroad. The AAP government has made strong efforts to root out the menace of drugs from the state. He said that the drug problem was a stigma on the state and it took more than two years for the AAP government to formulate a strategy to eradicate this curse.
He said that the AAP government started the ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign, under which the supply line of drugs was broken and the smugglers involved in this heinous crime were put behind the bars. The curse of drugs is being eradicated at every level with the active support and cooperation of the common people and this campaign has been transformed into a mass movement with the cooperation of the common people. The AAP government has broken the backbone of the drug trade by putting the big fish involved in this heinous crime behind bars and tightening the noose on drug smugglers.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the real name of Akali Dal’s so-called ‘Punjab Bachao Yatra’ is ‘Parivar Bachao Yatra’. The Chief Minister said that after looting the state for 15 years, from whom are they trying to save Punjab? People elected Akalis many times, but they proved to be traitors and always backstabbed the state and the people. When the entire farming community was fighting for their rights, the Akalis had also supported the black agricultural laws of the Modi government to save their chair in the Union Cabinet.
He said, "Akalis misused religion for their personal political interests, for which people will never forgive them and teach them a proper lesson for the sins committed by them. People elected Akalis again and again, but they proved to be traitors and always backstabbed Punjab and Punjabis."
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "This holy land has produced saints, great men, martyrs, great players and generals, but it is very unfortunate that under the patronage of the previous governments, smugglers, gangsters and other criminals have made this state their home. Those responsible for misleading the youth will be held accountable and will have to pay for their sins. These leaders, who have ruined generations of the state, will have to pay the price of their bad intentions and the AAP government will ensure exemplary punishment for their evil deeds."
He said, "Everyone knows that this family lived as puppets of the British and was given the title of ‘Sir’ for supporting the British against the patriots fighting for the country. This family had honored General Dyer, who was convicted of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre on April 13, 1919, by inviting him for dinner after this heinous incident. Such actions are a direct proof of his anti-national and anti-Punjab mentality and double character."
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann further said, "Not only this, this family also played an important role in getting General Dyer buried in Sri Harmandir Sahib and pardoned. History cannot be erased and the dubious character of Badal’s ancestors is imprinted on the pages of history. The hands of this family are stained with the blood of patriots and the role of these traitors in backstabbing the nationalists can never be ignored."
He said, "In the state assembly elections to be held in 2027, people will have a chance to choose from three pens. The first pen is of Congress, which has red ink which symbolizes the attack on Sri Harmandir Sahib, the 1984 massacre and other anti-Sikh and anti-Punjab stances. The second pen is of Akalis, in which there is only one ink which has disrespected Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The third pen is of ‘AAP’ which is showing the way to make Punjab ‘Rangla Punjab’ through guiding initiatives every passing day."
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "The AAP government has taken many people-friendly initiatives in every field, which have changed the face of the entire state in every field. People’s tax money belongs to the state and it is being spent wisely on the welfare of the people. People’s money is coming back to the people through development, schools, hospitals and roads."
he adds, "Free electricity to 90 percent houses, more than 65,000 government jobs to youth without any corruption, better roads, daily saving of Rs 70 lakh from closed toll plazas and creation of infrastructure is being done by AAP government. When the AAP government came to power, only 22 percent canal water was being used for irrigation, but today 71 percent canal water is being used and it will be increased to 90 percent by the upcoming paddy season."
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana has been started by the state government, under which health cards are being issued to all 65 lakh families of Punjab. Every family in the state is entitled to free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh. Under this scheme, more than 30 lakh beneficiaries have already been issued health cards and about 1.65 lakh people have received free treatment. People should take maximum advantage of these cards."
He said, "For the first time in the history of the state, more than eight hours of uninterrupted power supply has been provided to tube wells during the paddy season. Farmers are now getting electricity for irrigation during day time for the first time, which has changed their lives."
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "Every single penny of the public treasury is being used wisely by our government for the welfare of the people. Under Maawan Dhiyaan Satikar Yojana, women belonging to Scheduled Caste category above 18 years of age will be given assistance of Rs 1500 per month and women of other categories will be given assistance of Rs 1000 per month."
He said, "A massive project has been started by the AAP government to repair link roads across the state. Punjab has 43,000 km of link roads and a massive project has been launched for their repair and upgradation. Along with repairs, these roads will also be maintained for the next five years."
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "All the tax money belongs to the people of the state and it is being spent on their welfare. Taxpayers’ money is coming back to the people through development, schools, hospitals and roads. Even though the AAP government has fulfilled all its guarantees, efforts to move forward will continue. Other political parties are trying to grab power on their platforms, but from this platform we talk about education, health, electricity, agriculture and overall development."
Talking about the big relief for border farmers, he said, "Due to the concerted efforts of the AAP government, the Government of India has ordered to shift the barbed wire to within 300 meters of the international border, which has brought great relief to the farmers. With this, farming can be done on lakhs of acres of land without any restriction."
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "This will greatly benefit the farmers of Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Fazilka and Ferozepur. SDM has been instructed to conduct a survey so that an area of 300 meters can be marked smoothly to implement this decision on time."
