Alpha Collection Day 2: Alia Bhatt’s film earned ₹37.90 crore worldwide in 2 days, leaving ‘Jigra’ behind

Alpha Box Office Collection Day 2: Alia Bhatt and Sharvari starrer spy-action film ‘Alpha’ is continuously earning well at the box office. There was a huge jump in the film’s earnings on the second day of its release, after which its two-day worldwide collection has reached ₹37.90 crore.

Although, it was the lowest opening film of YRF Spy Universe till date, but its performance was better than Alia Bhatt’s previous film ‘Jigra’. Now all eyes are on the weekend performance of the film, where its earnings are expected to increase further.

Worldwide collection of ₹37.90 crore in two days
According to trade website Sacnilk, Alpha earned ₹17.10 crore nett on the first day in India, while according to the producers, the film’s first-day gross collection stood at ₹17.42 crore.

On the second day, the film made a net business of ₹11.50 crore in India. With this, the film’s total earnings at the domestic box office reached ₹20.75 crore net and ₹24.90 crore gross. An increase of about 24.3 percent was recorded in the film’s earnings on the second day.

At the same time, the film did a business of ₹13 crore from overseas markets, after which the total worldwide gross collection of Alpha has become ₹37.90 crore.

Ahead of ‘Jigra’, but far behind ‘War 2’
Alia Bhatt’s previous film ‘Jigra’ had earned ₹17.32 crore worldwide in two days of its release. In such a situation, Alpha has easily left this figure behind.

However, Alpha is far behind YRF Spy Universe’s previous film ‘War 2’. Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani starrer ‘War 2’ made a business of ₹165.23 crore worldwide in the first two days of its release.

Equaling the record of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’
Interestingly, Alpha has earned almost the same amount in two days as Alia Bhatt’s superhit film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ did. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film had a worldwide collection of ₹38.10 crore in the first two days of its release.

What is the story of the film?
Alpha is directed by Shiv Rawail, while the film is produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. It is the seventh film in the YRF Spy Universe and the first female-led spy film in this universe.

Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol are seen in lead roles in the film. The story revolves around a trained female assassin who discovers secrets related to her past and childhood. After this she fights for justice against her own guru.

Alpha was released in theaters on July 3. The film is in conflict with Huma Qureshi’s ‘Baby Do Die Do’. Despite facing trolling on social media, the film is performing steady at the box office. Now all eyes are on Sunday’s collection, where further growth in the film’s business is expected.
