Bullets fired at America’s Bite of Seattle food festival, 2 killed; many injured including innocent

In this attack, two people died on the spot, while five others, including a two-year old innocent child, were seriously injured. After the incident, there was a stampede in the entire area and the police termed it as ‘mass casualty’ An incident has been declared.

Outcry at food festival

According to the information, this incident happened in Seattle Center at around 6 pm on Sunday evening. At the time, the annual Bite of Seattle food festival was taking place, located just a block away from the Space Needle. Thousands of people were present in this popular event, when suddenly a volley of bullets was heard.

According to the people present there, as soon as the bullets were fired, the festive atmosphere turned into mourning and people started running here and there to save their lives.

Many injured in the attack

Seattle Fire Department confirmed the incident and said that two people died on the spot in the attack. The injured include a 2-year-old child, three women and a 23-year-old man. According to medical officials, one of the injured women, a 56-year-old woman, remains in critical condition. Other injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Joint investigation of police and FBI started

Seeing the seriousness of the incident, Seattle Police immediately evacuated the entire Seattle Center and surrounding areas. Security forces have laid a tight cordon in search of the attacker. Along with the local police, officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FBI) have also joined this investigation. Police have appealed to local residents and tourists to stay away from the area until the investigation is complete.
