New Delhi: The tension between America and Iran in the Middle East has now reached such a point where a major crisis appears to be looming over the global economy and energy security. The ‘Economic D-Day’ plan prepared by the White House to strengthen the siege of Iran has made Tehran’s attitude extremely harsh. Enraged by this tough action of America, Iran has bluntly given an ultimatum that if this economic stranglehold is not loosened, it will stop the export of every drop of crude oil from the Gulf region.
Iran’s all-out stance in response to economic siege
Mohsen Razai, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said on Twitter that if Washington’s ‘economic war’ continues like this, Iran will give a befitting reply.
According to him, in such a situation, no country’s oil will be allowed to go out not only from the strategically important Strait of Hormuz but also from the entire Persian Gulf.
America’s ‘final blow’ and Trump’s open warning
On the other hand, this time America seems to be in a mood to completely break the economic back of Iran. US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant has openly announced that the largest and final phase of economic attack against Iran has begun. According to Besant, the direct objective of ‘Economic D-Day’ is to permanently cut off every financial and business oxygen available to the Iranian regime.
At the same time, President Donald Trump has also expressed his intentions through Truth Social. Describing it as the most devastating economic attack in history, Trump warned that any country or global company that has any kind of business relations with Iran will have to face very serious consequences.
Strait of Hormuz becomes the new center of war
The global energy market is paying the biggest price for this conflict between the two superpowers. The movement of ships in the ‘Strait of Hormuz’, one of the world’s most important maritime oil routes, has almost come to a halt. Iran has laid down a clear condition that unless America restores its seized assets and lifts the blockade, this waterway will not be allowed to become normal. An Iranian tribunal has also released a list of several ships that will face strict sanctions if they pass through this route. While America is adamant on bringing Iran to its knees, Iran’s counterattack has further intensified the smell of gunpowder in the entire Gulf region.
