America’s sixth consecutive night attack on Iran, in retaliation attacks on Qatar’s capital

New Delhi:Tension is continuously increasing in the Middle East. The ongoing military conflict between America and Iran has now become more serious than before. For the sixth consecutive night, the US Army carried out air strikes on several important targets of Iran, while in response, Iran also started targeting America’s allies in the Gulf region. The situation has become such that the temporary agreement reached just a few days ago appears to be almost ineffective and the threat of war has increased again in the entire region.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that its military launched another operation aimed at weakening Iran’s military capabilities. This was the sixth consecutive night when the US military carried out attacks in different parts of Iran. According to Iranian government media, two bridges, a railway station and an airport located in the southern region were targeted. This area is very close to the Strait of Hormuz, which is counted among the most important energy routes in the world. Through this route, a large amount of crude oil and natural gas is supplied globally.

Loss of life and property in attacks

According to Iranian media reports, three people died in attacks on bridges in Hormozgan province. Apart from this, news of explosion has also come to light in Bushehr city. Bushehr is the same city where Iran’s main civilian nuclear power plant is located. However, official information about the extent of damage caused to the nuclear plant by these attacks has not been revealed. Iran described these attacks as America’s ongoing military action and strongly condemned it.

Strait of Hormuz again becomes center of tension

About 20 percent of the world’s oil and gas trade takes place through the Strait of Hormuz. In such a situation, the increasing tension here has become a matter of concern for the energy market of the entire world. A few weeks ago, a temporary agreement was reached between the two sides with the aim of reducing the conflict, but now the situation seems to be worsening again. Due to continuous attacks, this agreement seems to be almost ineffective.

Tension increased after Trump’s statement

US President Donald Trump had already warned that if Iran was not ready for talks, America could target its power plants, bridges and other important structures. Meanwhile, the White House has also said that America still does not consider the path of dialogue completely closed and is ready for a diplomatic solution. On the other hand, Iran had already warned that if its civilian infrastructure was attacked, it would retaliate across the region.

Now Qatar also becomes target

Iran has previously attacked US military bases in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan. However, till now it had not directly targeted Qatar. But early on Friday, several loud explosions were heard in Doha, the capital of Qatar. This indicated that Iran may now increase the scope of the conflict. Qatar and Iran have long had relatively good relations. This is the reason why during the current crisis, Qatar had several times tried to maintain dialogue between the two sides.
