Ampere Reo VYB— Greaves Electric Mobility’s electric two-wheeler brand Ampere has launched its new slow-speed electric scooter Ampere Reo VYB in the Indian market. The biggest feature of this scooter is that its top-speed has been fixed at 25 kilometers per hour. Because of this, there will be no legal requirement of any kind of driving license or RTO registration to run it on the road. This new model has been introduced keeping in mind the customers buying two-wheelers for the first time and families visiting the local market.

Price and comparison with older models

The company has kept the ex-showroom price of Ampere Reo VYB at Rs 69,499 in all the states including New Delhi where the dealership network is present. This is the company’s newest and main slow-speed premium model. It has been placed just above the existing Reo 80 scooter. The Reo 80 is priced at Rs 60,650 (ex-showroom Delhi), compared to which the new Reo VYB is almost Rs 9,000 costlier. However, in return for this additional cost, customers are getting major upgrades in terms of security and features.

Powerful battery and security features

Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery technology with 1.44 kWh capacity has been used in this electric scooter. Considering the Indian climate and summer temperatures, LFP batteries are considered to be the safest in terms of thermal stability.

• Single Charge Range: This scooter covers a distance of 80 kilometers on full charge.
• Battery Life: The company claims that the life of this battery is up to 1,00,000 kilometers.
• Braking System: For better control, disc brake is provided in its front wheel and drum brake in the rear.

Big change in digital features and boot space

Practical changes have been made in the design of this model to meet everyday needs. While the old model had only 13 liters of space, the new Ampere Reo VYB has a large under-seat storage (boot space) of 24 liters, in which a helmet or ration items can be easily kept. Apart from this, it includes modern features like color LCD digital cluster, premium key-fob remote for keyless start, LED headlight and tail lamp.
