Amul becomes India’s first FMCG brand to cross Rs 1 lakh crore

Amul has created history by becoming India’s first fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company to cross a turnover of Rs 1 lakh crore in FY26.

Owned by the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, Amul surpassed leading FMCG companies including Hindustan Unilever and Nestlé to achieve the milestone.

Dairy cooperative reaches historic milestone

Amul reportedly sells nearly 25 billion product packs annually through a vast distribution network of around 20,000 distributors and over 20 lakh retailers across India.

The company’s strong growth has been driven by rising demand for milk, butter, cheese, ice cream and other dairy products in both urban and rural markets.

Industry experts say the achievement highlights the growing strength of India’s cooperative model, which connects lakhs of dairy farmers directly to consumers nationwide.
