Political conflict has intensified regarding Patna Graduate MLC elections in Bihar. JDU MLA from Mokama, Anant Singh has supported Jan Suraj’s candidate Anuj Singh while opening a front against his own party’s official candidate Neeraj Kumar. During the campaign, Anant Singh challenged his opponents and claimed that he would confiscate their deposits. His statement has brought into discussion the electoral contest as well as the differences within JDU.
The dispute between Anant Singh and Neeraj Kumar has been going on for a long time. Anant Singh alleges that Neeraj Kumar has opposed him on many occasions. Due to this resentment, he has decided to campaign against Neeraj Kumar, calling it a personal fight. Even before this he had claimed victory of Anuj Singh.
Voting on 23rd October
JDU has made Neeraj Kumar its official candidate from Patna Graduate seat, while Jan Suraj has fielded Dr. Anuj Singh. Voting is scheduled for October 23 and counting is scheduled for October 27.
Anant Singh campaigning against his own party’s candidate in this election is creating an uncomfortable situation for JDU. Now the focus is on what stance the party leadership takes on this difference of opinion and what effect it has on the elections.
