A grand event ‘Anti-Dowry Public Awareness Programme’ was organized under the aegis of National Service Scheme (NSS) in Smart Room No. 15 of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Government Post Graduate College.
The program was presided over by college principal Professor Om Prakash. Under the awareness campaign, Dr. Anand Kumar, first unit in-charge of National Service Scheme (NSS) conducted the program efficiently.
He read out a special affidavit and administered a collective oath to all the professors, non-teaching staff and a large number of students present present, to remove the serious social problem and curse of dowry from the society. On this occasion, in his presidential address, the Principal of the college, Professor Om Prakash, deeply expressed his views on the evil practice of dowry and its fatal ill effects on the society. He inspired the students to be vocal against this social evil and called upon them to become conscious citizens. At the end of the program, Dr. Suchitra Krishnamurthy, in-charge of the second unit of National Service Scheme, presented a memorandum of thanks to the chief guest, professors and students.
